World of Warcraft: Midnight could launch as early as February 26, 2026, according to a reported leak spotted on social media. The potential release date for World of Warcraft: Midnight would line up with the end of the upcoming Legion Remix event, and could give players enough time to experience the expansion’s pre-patch activities.
As the 11th World of Warcraft expansion, Midnight is the second chapter of The Worldsoul Saga, and will focus on the continuing conflict between Xal’atath and Azeroth’s champions. Midnight will take players back to Quel’thalas, as zones like Eversong Woods, Silvermoon City, and Zul’Aman will be updated with new graphics, quests, and stories to tell. Midnight will also introduce the bat-like Haranir as a playable Allied Race for the Alliance and the Horde, along with the highly anticipated player housing feature. As a Midnight pre-order bonus, player housing will be available in early access before the expansion goes live.
World of Warcraft Midnight Could Arrive By The End of February
Although rumored release dates should be taken with a grain of salt, a source claimed that World of Warcraft players may not have to wait too long for Midnight. As seen on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, a report from French magazine Dealabs stated that World of Warcraft: Midnight could launch on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Additionally, Dealabs claimed that the physical World of Warcraft: Midnight Collector’s Edition would cost €139.99 in Europe, although pricing information in other territories was not confirmed. The Collector’s edition would contain a game key for World of Warcraft: Midnight Epic Edition, along with a special Dark Heart Replica, a Midnight Hardcover Artbook, and a Collector’s Pin. No pre-order date for World of Warcraft: Midnight Collector’s Edition was revealed as of this writing.
This potential release date would align with the end of the Legion Remix limited-time event, which is tentatively scheduled to conclude around January 19. Should the respective January and February dates for Legion Remix’s finale and Midnight’s launch hold, that would give World of Warcraft players over five weeks in between them to enjoy the Midnight pre-expansion patch content. It remains to be seen what said content will consist of.
Although Blizzard has not officially revealed the release date of Midnight, more information is expected from the development team during a Deep Dive broadcast on October 1. Between that and the launch of the Midnight alpha test on October 2, World of Warcraft fans will have plenty of content to consume throughout the fall and winter.
